Position Title: General Operative
Location: Nationwide / Mobile role
Reporting to: Engineering Maintenance Manager
Overall Purpose of the Job
Apleona is seeking a skilled General Operative to take the lead in providing Facilities Management on
the client premises. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will assist and take ownership in providing Facilities
Management & Facilities related projects, including painting, assisting the Technical Team, planned
maintenance activities, moves management, administration, logistics, H&S, enabling the business to
carry out their business activities in a safe comfortable, productive & cost effective environment.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Normal routine checks on the fabric (for example, doors, walls, ceilings, & floors) and of the building as
per schedule.
- Adhoc repairs to the building fabric and furniture as necessary.
- Regular site walks to determine areas / fabric that require attention.
- To carry out planned preventative maintenance on all building fabric under our control as per the Plant
CMMS / CAFM system.
- Assist the engineering team to carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our
control as per the Plant CMMS / CAFM system.
- Property & Facility related inspections.
- Maintain appropriate records in line with GMP requirements.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and GMP, and ensure compliance with the 5S (Sorting, Simplify,
Sweep, Standardise, Sustain) during maintenance work.
- Maintain an internal ‘Best Practice’ regime and encourage continuous improvements.
- Liaise with the service desk / Team Lead and respond to all non-technical queries in a timely manner to
ensure conformance with the relevant Service Level Agreement.
- Carryout reactive tasks that will enable repairs to building fabric.
- Cleaning and unblocking of internal and external drains as deemed necessary.
- Repairs to and replacement of sanitary ware as and when required.
- Assist with the moving of plant and equipment as deemed necessary by the client.
- Carryout the daily checks on site as per client requirements.
- Fabric maintenance, including painting and decorating, door furniture, office furniture etc.
- Reporting of any out of place findings to the client and Team Lead.
- Ensure any training deemed necessary by your line manager is completed within the agreed timeframe.
- Must be willing to take on and familiarize with all relevant site systems as deemed necessary to complete
the role.
- Assist with all queries regarding quotations and purchasing when requested.
- Take on adhoc projects from time to time as deemed necessary by the Client and / or Team Lead.
The successful candidate must also hold:

- Ability to understand specification drawings and working from same.

- Ability to source materials and generate quotations as required.

Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years’ relevant experience.
- Basic computer knowledge essential.
- Proven track record in Preventative and Reactive Maintenance in a similar environment.
- Formal qualification as a carpenter or similar role would be advantageous.
- Full clean driving licence is required.
- The role will require Garda vetting.
