    Overall Purpose of the Job 

    Responsible for carry out supportive tasks throughout the site both internal and external. The main duties will be maintaining site tidiness, carrying out general maintenance duties and assisting the technicians carry out any duties as required, To ensure high standards is performed on site as directed by supervisor.  

     

    Main duties and responsibilities   

    • General operatives are responsible for the maintenance and tidiness of the site. Duties, not restricted to, are as follows:  
    • Filling and use of the general waste compactor  
    • Filling and use of the Dry Mixed Recyclable Compactor Baling of cardboard, plastic, and paper waste streams. 
    • Carryout reactive tasks that will enable repairs to building fabric.
    • Assist with the moving of plant and equipment as deemed necessary by the client.
    • Carryout the daily checks on site as per client requirements.
    • Fabric maintenance, including painting and decorating, door furniture, office furniture etc.
    • Assist subcontractors to allow them to carry out their tasks, for example signing in, work permits and showing to area.
    • Reporting of any out of place findings to the contract manager  
    • Monitoring of all subcontractors and their associated service.
    • Ensuring all facilities activities and requests are tracked and resolved in timely manner in line with the SLA.  Ensuring that feedback is provided on each issue.
    • Ad hoc duties as required.  
    • Salting of the car park over the winter months  

     

     

    Qualifications & Experience  

    • Ability to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety good practice in relation to cleaning procedures.  
    • Be an Apleona ambassador  
    • The successful candidate must also hold:  
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills  
    • Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation  
    • Ability to work on his/her own  
    • Well-organised and capable of prioritising own work  
    • Flexible, Honest and reliable  
    • Excellent Work Record  
    • Previous experience in similar role advantageous  
    • Flexible approach to working as part of a team.  
    • Forklift training a distinct advantage. 

     

    Qualifications and Experience

    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position and environment
    • Any experience of the mechanical element of building services would be a distinct advantage.
    • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal direction.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Must appreciate the importance of taking ownership of certain functions as allocated to the role.

     

    Working Pattern

    39 hours per week, shift worker, Monday to Sunday shifts.
