    To support growth and expansion Apleona are currently recruiting for a Handyman to join our team at our facility in Dublin 4

     

    Working pattern: Tuesday- Friday 15:00-20:00

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Conduct regular patrols of the building including corridors, common areas, entrances and external areas where applicable.
    • Ensure the building remains safe, tidy and presentable during evening occupancy.
    • Monitor building access points and report any security concerns.
    • Carry out evening checks of common areas, plant areas and shared facilities.
    • Support the Facilities Manager by identifying and assisting with minor reactive tasks identified during evening building inspections.
    • Assist with building closing procedures, including checks of lighting, doors and communal areas.
    • Report any faults, hazards or maintenance issues to the facilities team.
    • Carry out general DIY and practical tasks, including:
    • Hanging signage, whiteboards or notice boards.
    • Assembling or relocating furniture.
    • Minor adjustments to doors, hinges or handles.
    • Replacing light bulbs where safe to do so.
    • Carrying out small painting or touch-up works.
    • Assist with simple building tasks that do not require specialist trades.
    • Identify and report maintenance issues that require contractor attendance.(This role does not include plumbing, electrical or specialist maintenance works.)
    • Assist with meeting room resets and layout adjustments where required.
    • Support internal moves or relocation of small items of furniture or equipment.
    • Assist with deliveries arriving during evening hours.
    • Escort contractors working in the building during evening periods where required.
    • Ensure waste and recycling areas remain orderly and report any issues.
    • Follow all building health and safety procedures.
    • Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
    • Ensure all tasks undertaken are completed safely.
    • Support emergency procedures including fire alarm activations or evacuations if required.

     

    Skills & Experience

     

    • Practical DIY skills and familiarity with basic tools.
    • Ability to carry out routine evening building inspections and proactively identify minor maintenance issues before they escalate.
    • Ability to carry out light physical work including lifting and moving items.
    • Ability to work independently and manage evening responsibilities.
    • Good awareness of safety in a commercial building environment.
    • Previous experience in a facilities, caretaker or building attendant role is desirable.
